Production was halted for around two weeks in June whilst the relocation took place. “The major challenge posed by the move was handled superbly,” emphasises Dennis Schürmann, managing partner of Tuchel Maschinenbau GmbH. “At the new site, we are benefiting from significantly improved conditions and considerably more space. This gives us the room we need for innovation and efficiency.”
On the site, which covers a total of 26,000 square metres, more than 11,700 square metres of production and storage space, as well as around 1,370 square metres of modern office and staff facilities, have been created. The new complex has been fully operational since June.
More efficient processes and doubled capacity
The decision to build the new facility was the result of the company’s continuous and successful growth over recent years. At the previous site, space was becoming increasingly limited; it was no longer possible to organise production, machinery and work areas optimally.
“The new building gives us the opportunity to organise our areas much more effectively and to make production processes far more efficient. At the same time, this creates more scope for our future development,” explains Schürmann. A striking example of this is the new paint finishing technology: thanks to the modernised facilities, Tuchel Maschinenbau has been able to double its previous capacity in this area in one fell swoop.
At the same time, employees at the site benefit from modern workstations, more space and improved ergonomic and environmental conditions. Shorter distances and optimised processes will ensure more cost-effective production in future.
Strong international focus: export share at 50 per cent
With its new capacity, Tuchel Maschinenbau GmbH considers itself ideally equipped to respond flexibly to market developments and, above all, to further expand its international business. “Our export share now stands at around 50 per cent – and the trend is still upwards,” reports Dennis Schürmann.
In addition to its headquarters in Salzbergen, which currently employs around 80 staff, the company operates a plant in Hungary with around 100 employees. Ongoing internationalisation will therefore remain a key pillar of the company’s strategy in the future.
Sustainable construction for resource-efficient operations
Sustainability was also a key priority during the planning and implementation of the construction project. A high-performance photovoltaic system and modern heat pumps ensure an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly energy supply for the site. The building thus not only meets all the requirements for modern production and administration, but also lays the foundations for long-term resource-efficient operations.
This investment of 14 million euros has laid the foundations for the long-term success of Tuchel Maschinenbau GmbH. Following the smooth commissioning, the focus is now on making the most of the new opportunities and consistently further consolidating the company’s market position both at home and abroad.
